There are a couple of new Spotify updates this week that could actually result in the already massive company actually competing with the millions that use iTunes. In case you didn’t already know Spotify is a service that lets you search for music and listen to it for free. For free you say, well yes it has advertisements between every 4-5 songs that help pay for the service and you can pay £10 a month to actually rid of these advertisements and have a premium account.
You can put together playlists that you can listen to even when you are not connected to the net which is brilliant.
The updates are of course as followed:
Social
Spotify know that people who listen to music and are passionate about it want to tell other people how awesome the track they just listened too was which is why they are letting you bring all of your Facebook friends into Spotify so you can send over tracks that you like to them directly. You can also have a nose in your friends playlists to see if there is anything you like, then pop it into your list.
Library
If you have an MP3 player, Spotify will now see this and put all of the music into the playlist as well which is great and this can also be played offline when you are not connected to the net, iTunes, eat your heart out, this looks fantastic.
America
The only real problem with the service is that it is not in America as of yet but who cares I do not live in America! On the other hand for all of you Yanks out there never fear the service is on its way some time this year?
It doesn’t matter if you are into your banjos, bass guitars or even regular guitars it doesn’t matter as Spotify has a song for you!
