Excessive perspiration which is also called hyperhidrosis is a condition characterized by abnormally increased perspiration. Hyperhidrosis doesn’t discriminate; males and females are affected equally, any body parts can be too. However, most cases happen in areas where sweat glands are concentrated such as feet, hands, face and armpits. People feeling hyperhidrosis in their armpits are commonly the most concerned because people are inclined to think abnormal armpit sweating is a result of bad hygiene. Individuals with hyperhidrosis will likewise be limited in their movements and may find difficulties doing what they do.
The grounds for excessive armpit perspiration is still something to work out and scientists have been making their guesses. It used to be a common thought that extreme armpit sweating is a consequence of someone suffering anxiety. But this thought was proven wrong because these patients sweat excessively even when they are relaxed. It might be something genetic since in about 50% of the cases, genetic connection is found. Wrong deodorants or allergies are a few of the guesses, too. Many forms of treatments have been invented as well. None of them actually keeps hyperhidrosis away forever but they do help the patients.
If you are tired and embarrassed of problems as a consequence of hyperhidrosis and would like to be freed of them, there are some things you can get done to:
1. Talcum or baby powder can be used as short lived cure. It is a bit messy on shirt but the powder absorbs sweat really well.
2. Antiperspirant: Aluminium chloride is used in regular antiperspirants for combating hyperhidrosis. However, it usually takes three to five days to finally see the result and might cause discomfort on skin.
3. Injections: Botulinum toxin type A injections are used to stop the sweat glands. This may last for four to nine months.
4. Surgical operation called Endoscopic Thoracic Sympathectomy which is viewed safe. All the same, excessive sweating might recur sometimes within six months of the procedure attributable to nerve generation.
