British tourists are especially attracted to the town’s holiday on offer, as it provides an opportunity to choose from a massive range of non catered, half or full board and all inclusive packages, for example those available at Benidorm Poseidon.
The Costa Blanca destination of Benidorm is situated on the Costa Blanca shore of Spain, on the edge of the Mediterranean Sea.
The resort is best known as a seaside resort attracting large numbers of visitors each year. The Benidorm residents, totalling almost 70,000 is overtaken in the summer season as the huge plethora of accommodation in the coastal destination play home to holiday makers. Much of the region’s economy is therefore dependant on holidaymakers, which, as with many other destinations across the world has suffered with the worldwide recession. But now, as things are now getting better, the destination should quickly find the benefits of improving economies across the west and perhaps even the world, as it forms a reasonably priced travel resort for many people.
A vivid image of the resort is the towering nature of the destination – against the population of permanent locals, the diversity of the buildings forming the skyline is rather unusual. This is a direct reflection of the reliance on the holiday trade. Sitting to the rear of the hotels lie the great mountainranges of the Costa Blanca area, an amazing backdrop particularly in the early morning as the sun rises.
The Town layout consists of Levane and Poniente, both discrete area. Unsurprisingly the coastlines are named after their respective areas, coming together in the middle at the Benidorm Old Town which reaches backwards into Benidorm from the beach. The town is a lovely break from the obvious visitor effects of hotels as far as the eye can see elsewhere in the destination.
The town is unique in that it is ringed by rock faces and has highly predictable weather patterns, frequently recording temperatures above twenty five degrees celsius in high season. This is the reason for the popularity amongst English visitors, an almost guaranteed sunshine break.
