A lot of accidents can be prevented with proper care and safety practices.
We should therefore teach everybody the substance of safety so as to reduce these accidents.
Primarily, safety education must be impressed most of all to school kids. Often left to their own, kids usually work and play wildly and act almost without concern of damaging outcome of their actions, which include, among others, disregarding safety.
School children’s accidents normally include falls, bike accidents, and/or as pedestrian traffic victims on the way to and from schools.
Hence, schoolchildren must be instructed how to observe safety to avoid accidents and also assist their schoolmates avoid the same. They must be taught how to assess risks and must be encouraged on how to make actions to avoid or extricate themselves from danger. These education do not mean that they are necessarily immune from getting bumps or bruises but are encouraged much on teaching them how to cope up safely when encountering with different types of risks.
Proper safety education should consider circumstances that fits to the age and growth level of the school children. These can also include exposure to localities, whether rural, urban, or slum, as well as other environments they may be exposed to when doing such extracurricular activities as study tours and campings or even holidays and vacations.
They must also be taught to see the roles of organizations or government agencies in promoting safety, such as the meaning of safety signages and the degree of risk represented with a safety notice sign or a danger warning sign.
If need be, regular school program should incorporate safety education to children in consideration of the impact of this subject to the benefit and well-being of children. The very least that should be done, school administrators, faculty members, and even non-teaching school personnel must be tapped to influence these children to practice safety.
When schools begin the commitment of teaching school kids to act safely not only in school but also at home and everywhere they may be, a lot of unneeded worries from guardians can be relieved, especially that we are aware of the children’s inherent nature of playfully assuming that things are safe even when not examined.
