			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p></p><p> Trying to shed excess pounds is not the easiest of tasks, and I would know since I was overweight for nearly a decade.  More than a year ago, I attempted to slim down using weight loss supplements. I once bought over-the-counter weight loss pills which were marketed as made from all natural ingredients. I thought that since that diet pill was herbal, it would be safer to take them. I couldn&rsquo;t be more wrong.</p>
<p> Among the side effects that I experienced were tremors, and sleeping difficulties.  But it was when my blood pressure shot up and I felt palpitations that I quit using the pill.  While there are herbal and pharmaceutical products that are said to have passed safety and efficacy standards, I am still leery in taking them.  This is because, they cannot be taken for a long time because of the side effects associated with prolonged use.</p>
<p>Having lost hope that I can lose weight quickly through diet pills, I turned to dieting and exercising.  Knowing how much should I weigh, was the initial step I took prior to commencing my weight loss program. I used BMI calculators and charts online to do this. Aside from determining <a href="http://www.juicingforweightloss.com/weight-loss/how-much-should-i-weigh">how much should I weigh</a>, I also looked into how much calories I should take in daily to lose weight.  After supplying my height, current and ideal weight, gender, and activity level, I was able to determine that restricting my intake to a 1200 calorie diet was necessary. I take various kinds of produce on a daily basis, and tried to introduce more fiber into my diet by eating oatmeal for breakfast. I also diversified my protein intake, to include both plant and animal sources and eliminated saturated fats from my diet too, using unsaturated ones instead.</p>
<p>To support my weight loss efforts, I increased my physical activity as well.  I spend a total of five hours a week doing moderate intensity cardio workouts, and hit the gym to lift weights on two or more days each week.  In my workplace, I also make a conscious effort to take the stairs rather than ride the elevator.  In addition to that, I try to become less reliant on my car especially for short trips when doing some errands.</p>
<p> It&#8217;s been at least a year since I began this diet and exercise program, and at this point I was already able to get rid of about ninety pounds. Clearly, if I can do it without diet pills, I see no reason why you can&rsquo;t too.</p>
